What I am sharing here is in no way an advocation for allowing an infestation of unwanted critters to run rampant. It is just a simple example that points out the benefits and rewards from living in harmony. From my experiences, I have come to realize that nearly every case of an out of control infestation of critters is due to an unnecessary tampering to the ecosystem, by humans' poor decision making from fear, ignorance, or just plain stupidity.
This was an experience I had a few years ago.

There was a group of ants that created a nest, in my yard, very close to the front stoop. Most people probably would have panicked just by the site of them—but I just let them be—welcoming them as my new morning guests, sitting next to them on the stoop—while having my fresh cup of coffee in the warm late spring sun. Then about a week later, a swarm of flying termites appeared, infesting some wood siding around the front doorway. It did concern me

(do no harm)
quite a bit, as I did not want them to cause any real damage. But I knew better than to tell the
landlord or property manager, as they most likely would have recommended some kind of extreme and
harsh chemicals (that of course would be far more threatening and
damaging to my wellbeing than anything these migrating critters could ever do).

The next morning, while still unsure as to how I was going to solve this termite issue, I went outside to sit on the front stoop and have my coffee. Once outside I suddenly realized with complete astonishment, that the ants had begun eradicating and dismantling all of the termites, and then carrying off every bit and piece,
wasting none. Within a few hours not a trace of the termites remained,
and all of the ants just kindly returned back to their home.

Then within a few days, another species of ants showed up, and evicted the first group of ants,
(my welcomed guests who provided their much appreciated and gracious service). It made me a little sad. I even raised my voice in a bit of defiance to the newcomers, but I knew there was nothing I could do, and even if there was, regardless, I was not meant to intervene. Then the following morning there was never a trace of anything. Anyone that would have showed up at that moment would have had no clue to what complex interactions had just taken place, in the last several days. I felt so very blessed, knowing that I just witnessed the grand workings of the entire Cosmos, that was perfectly presented in the most elegant way. It was a scale form of intricacy and intimacy, that could not be misconstrued. Showing its mastery of perfect balance and harmony, that naturally happens so effortlessly, whenever humans do not artificially intervene or disrupt the virtues of Nature.
